Cornerstone Church’s history explored in new book about Elgin’s Holy Hill.

Cornerstone Church is focusing on mission efforts here in our own “backyard” this December and January with these two giving projects: A Giving Tree to benefit the patients at Elgin Mental Health Center and Covered with Love sleeping bag donations for the Elgin Soup Kettle’s homeless population.

There are many legends around the Christmas story-even one about a spider. According to one legend, when Joseph was warned in a dream to flee from King Herod and the massacre that Herod would inflict upon the children of Bethlehem, several animals from the manger decided to accompany the Holy Family on their journey...

Noon Year’s Eve party for the whole family! Join us Friday, December 31st at 10:30 am for fun, games, pizza and a balloon drop! Registration required.

There are so many things we would love to know! The Love to Know: Life Talks series is designed to be a safe space for teens to ask questions. Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join the conversation and learn more about life and faith. We will have a meal, enjoy some fellowship, and praise God.

For many years, Cornerstone has been guided by these simple words, Loving God, Loving Others, Proclaiming Christ. It’s on our letterhead, carved into the side of the building and often declared in worship.

This month we are going to explore what it means to be loved and to love God and each other in the name of Jesus.

The summer months are coming to a close, and we are being called back into community at work, at school, and at church.

In the midst of a pandemic, what does it mean to be community?

We are looking for individuals interested in exploring our past and future. Where do we go from here? We will be reviewing and organizing archival records and photos of the past to form a foundation for moving forward.
